Physiotherapy for Work & Occupational Injuries
Upon work or occupational injuries, do consult your medical doctor for medical treatments and to get medical certificate (MC), if necessary, for absence from work or light duties so as to have sufficient rest and recovery.
Our physiotherapists will assess the nature and extent of the work or occupational injuries condition of the patient. Physical therapy is usually one of the better options when you have long term chronic pain that carries on for longer than twelve weeks despite medication or treatment. Common types of chronic pain includes arthritis or joint pain, lower back pain, neck pain, headaches, including migraines and muscle pain.
Chronic pain may start from an illness or injury from work, occupation or sports, from which you may recovered from, but pain persists. There may be an ongoing cause of pain such as arthritis or cancer. There are people who suffer chronic pain in the absence of any past injury or illness.
Patients typically receive physical therapy in tandem with the care from their primary medical doctor. This can include medicinal intervention and surgery, if needed, by your medical doctor.
How our Physiotherapists can help
Our physiotherapists treat patients throughout the entire healing process, from diagnosis to treatment to prevent further injury.
- Education and advises on proper techniques in executing daily tasks.
- Manual therapy and stretch therapy to improve movement, reduce pain and stiffness.
- Strengthening and stretching exercises that are customised to help regain strength and mobility.
Physiotherapy helps reduce pain and increase mobility. Physical therapy and stretch therapy can make you stronger and help you move and feel better. However, physical and stretch therapy should never cross over from discomfort and soreness into true pain.
